Cooperation for the Future of Vocational Education
On February 4, 2026, an expert workshop was held at the premises of the Zichy Mansion in Košice-Barca, organized by the Secondary School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Košice as part of the SECOVE project.
The workshop focused on current challenges and trends in the fields of construction and geodesy, with particular emphasis on digitalisation, linking education with practice, labour market needs, and the development of skills essential for the future. The discussion brought together representatives of professional organisations, universities, employers, and public administration, allowing for a comprehensive view of vocational education.
The event created space for sharing experiences, presenting different perspectives, and identifying common solutions aimed at improving the quality of vocational education and better preparing graduates for real-world practice.
Several key institutions and organisations actively contributed to the workshop, including the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice, the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies of the Technical University of Košice, the Slovak Chamber of Civil Engineers, EUROVIA SK, a.s., i.n.e studio, the Košice Self-Governing Region, the Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of Slovakia (ZSPS), the National Union of Employers (RÚZ), and Europe Direct Jasov.
Cooperation with strong partners is a key prerequisite for the development of high-quality vocational education and the effective preparation of future professionals. We thank all participants for their active engagement and expert contributions and hope to continue such activities and strengthen partnerships in the future.
