SECOVE at WorldSkills 2024
During the 3rd Forum for Vocational Excellence, SECOVE partners organised and facilitated two different workshops addressing current issues in the educational landscape, demonstrating the project’s commitment to practical solutions for real-world VET challenges.
Workshop 1: AR/VR Adaptations
The 1st workshop focused on the adaptation of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies for Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs). Participants explored how immersive digital tools can enhance training in sustainable energy, making complex technical concepts more accessible and engaging for learners. The session highlighted practical applications, implementation strategies, and the potential of XR technologies to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice.
Workshop 2: Inclusion in Technical VET
The 2nd workshop addressed the critical theme of inclusion in technical vocational education and training. Recognising that technical VET has faced challenges in attracting diverse learners, particularly women and underrepresented groups, the session explored concrete strategies for creating more welcoming and equitable learning environments. Discussions covered stereotype dismantling, accessible training materials, and institutional policies that support diversity.
One of the most valuable aspects of the workshops was the exchange of good practices between attendees. Representatives from VET institutions, industry partners, and policy bodies shared their educational experiences, successful initiatives, and lessons learned.
