Networking Event in Greece
A core activity of SECOVE project is to engage the labour market/ SMEs and the VETs, the student force. The idea is to reach out to SMEs which could be interested in the results of applied research in the sector of Sustainable Energy, which can be applied in the Innovation Hubs created through the project.
CRES is planning a social media campaign, engaging SECOVE’s well established network in Linkedin and Facebook, which will be further disseminated to each partner’s network of SMEs and respective contacts. The campaign will also try to reach new industries and SMEs in the related field and involve them to the project. Industry and SMEs’ practical experience in combination with the Innovation Hubs available equipment and know-how could enhance the implementation of applied research projects which will result to further innovation.
Furthermore, a meeting at the Piraeus Chamber of SMEs/ Artisans (BEP) was organized, in order to discuss the characteristics of their members which would be essential and useful to get actively involved in this part of the project. Representatives of the VET providers of SECOVE project were present, as well as of the University of West Attica and the specialties of their institutions relative to sustainable energy were presented. BEP has more than 700 SMEs as members of the Chamber and there was a thorough discussion aiming to identify the ones that could effectively apply to the project’s target and benefit from the project’s work simultaneously.
The discussion resulted that there is a number of SMEs that could have interest in the project and the innovation hubs and more specifically could get actively involved in the further activities, as the applied research projects and the national & international competition which is to be organized in the next months.
A more dedicated event is to be planned and take place soon, in order to get these SMEs in the same room with SECOVE relevant partners and stakeholders, to get more familiar with the project and to determine their involvement.
